TCN MD commences inspection at some substations in Lagos

BY AKUDORO GLORIA

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Engr. Sule A. Abdulaziz, has embarked on an official tour of substations, inspecting ongoing and recently completed projects in Lagos State.

The inspection tour started with a visit to the Otta 132/33kV transmission substation, which falls under the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC).

The Company made this known via a statement issued by its General Manager, Public Affairs, Mrs. Ndidi Mbah on Wednesday 4th December, 2024.

Engr. Abdulaziz also inspected the newly commissioned 100/125 MVA power transformer at the substation and an ongoing installation of a second 100/125MVA transformer.

The statement added that the energized 100/120MVA power transformer has been in circuit since April 4, 2024, adding a maximum of 100MW to the substation’s capacity.

“This means that IBEDC now has more bulk power available for distribution to customers in Ota, Iju, Sango, Ijoko, Atan, and environs.

This will further increase as soon as the second 100MVA transformer is completely installed,” it read.
