The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) recorded a 0.02 decrease in active subscription teledensity in the month of November 2020 as compared to October of the same year.
In November, 207,907,709 subscriptions were recorded with a teledensity percentage of 108.92 per cent, while in October 207,954,737 subscriptions were recorded with a teledensity percentage of 108.94.
This shows that number of active subscriptions reduced by 47,028. This is a rare occurrence, as the commission never reported a slack in active subscriptions since December 2019.
The commission is yet to state the reason for the reduced number of active subscriptions. Teledensity is calculated based on a population of 190 million subscriptions.
