The making of Okara Autonomous Community

The Okara Autonomous Community is located in Orba Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State. Located in the major area of Orba town, the Okara Community is blessed with highly positioned people in the areas of trade, estate, law, engineering, and other professions that encourage and empower community development.

The Okara Community is among other communities granted autonomy by the past government of Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the Gburugburu of Orba Udulekenyi. Accordingly, the community, by virtue of tradition, elected Engr. George Nwankwo Eze, (PHD), a seasoned engineer and among respectable personalities in the community as its pioneer Igwe.

Since the inauguration and installation of Igwe George Nwankwo Eze as the Igwe of Okara Autonomous Community, he has marshalled out plans for the development of the community through community volunteer engagements.

Stressing the importance of welfare programe, the Igwe, Engr. Nwankwo Eze, is collaborating with the Local Government Chairman and other stakeholders in driving development to the autonomous community. We will not forget the composition of the Igwe’s Cabinet that is comprised of seasoned personalities of various professions and occupations, whose contributions of advise support the Igwe in his decision-making for the good governance of the community.

Okara Community has witnessed improved sensitisation and unity among its people, resulting in the peace and unity that exist in the community as currently enjoyed in the community.
