William Troost-Ekong, the vice captain of the Super Eagles, stated that the squad is prepared for war ahead of Cote d’Ivoire.
To have a chance to advance to the Round of 16, Troost-Ekong and his colleagues must not lose to the Elephants.
The boisterous supporters of Jean-Louis Gasset’s team will be present at the Alassanne Quattara Stadium.
The Super Eagles will undoubtedly face difficulties in this environment.
However, the center-back asserted that the Super Eagles will rise to the occasion because they had faced comparable difficulties in the past.
“Things didn’t go as planned in the first game, which we hoped to win. The game against Cote d’Ivoire is now the main focus, as we have moved past that,” Troost-Ekong said to a press conference.
“This time, we intend to prevail, but we have prepared in the same manner. We will be up against a formidable opponent when we play the hosts.
“We have nothing to worry because our team is full of seasoned players who have participated in games similar to this one in the past.
“I know we will win, but it’s going to be a hard game.”
