The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has alleged that the plan of the embattled candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the last Anambra State governorship election, Andy Uba, is to impose himself as the APC leader in the state, should he win the election. APGA said Uba had no plan to win the election but to manipulate the results in his favour, so as to dislodge the Minister of Labour, Dr. Chris Ngige, from being the leader of the party in the state. National Coordinator, APGA Media Warrior Forum, Evang. Chinedu Obigwe disclosed this in his briefing to newsmen in Awka.
“The Andy Uba allegation that APGA is conniving with INEC in refusing to release the certified true copy of the result sheets for the November 6 governorship election is mere recycling of old lies. “I will say that Andy Uba was obviously high on a drug substance when he resorted to recycling his old lies at the gathering of fake APC stakeholders. “Any meeting of APC in Anambra State that Ngige did not attend cannot be taken seriously because nobody in Anambra State can be more APC than Ngige, who is among the founding fathers of the party in Anambra and Nigeria at large. “It is a mockery of the federal government for Andy Uba to claim that APGA is conniving with INEC, which is a well funded federal institution.
“Such an allegation is not just a mockery of the federal government, rather it is also laughable. I will say that Andy Uba is frustrated but he should know that he is the architect of his own frustration. “Even unfolding events in Anambra has shown that Andy Uba did not contest the November 6 election to win. He contested the election with the aim of dislodging Ngige as the leader of APC in Anambra State because the way he is fighting the battle of becoming the ceremonial leader of APC in Anambra State has shown that it is the only thing he wants to count as an achievement that made him to contest the November 6 election. “INEC is not in any connivance with APGA. They are doing their job professionally as a reliable federal institution.
The anger of Andy Uba is that INEC nipped his rigging plan in the bud. “Andy Uba wrote results of 10 local government areas even before the conduct of the November 6 governorship election and when INEC discovered what he did, they came up with another strategy that actually worked in destroying his rigging plan. “The result of Idemili North Local Government Area that Ifeanyi Ibezi came to submit at the local government met stiff resistance from vigilant APGA
