The people of Ufuma in Orumba North Local Government Area in Anambra State heartily welcomed home their son Prof Joseph Odirichukwu Ugboaja (OON) Ifeoma Ejiamatu, the Chief Medical Director Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi, Anambra State.
Prof Ugboaja traveled with his entourage to his home town for official signing of MoU of NAUTH annex and formal hand over of Cottage Hospital Enugwuabo to Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital formerly owned by State Government.
The event witnessed free medical outreach, where over 400 Ufuma people were attended to.
Addressing journalists, Dr Agbanu Chiemezie, President of Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi said that they came to celebrate and honour a good son of soil of Ufuma Community, Prof Joseph Odirichukwu Ugboaja(OON) Ifeoma Ejiamatu, the Chief Medical Director of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi,Anambra State for his achievements and selfless service to humanity.
He said that the CMD was honoured the Physician of the year by Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) Nnewi zone because of his resilience nature towards his duty.
Dr Agbanu revealed that they attended over 400 people both aged,middle aged and children with chronic illnesses like hypertension,cough and other ailments.
“We also counsel them because is part of the treatment and also refer them to Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital if they need attention of specialists.”
Dr Agbanu advised people to create good health culture because health is wealth.
He appreciated the NAUTH CMD Prof Joseph Odirichukwu Ugboaja (OON) for making this outreach possible, the NMA chairman Dr Chukwudi Nwagbara and Dr Dozie Obiegbu the chairman of this medical outreach.
