Vandalism: NSCDC arrests 13 suspects, recovers items worth N5m

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) command has paraded 13 suspected vandals arrested across various locations in the nation’s capital.

The command also recovered from the suspects items which include, armored cables, Motor Cycles, Shovels, Diggers, Wrentch, Hack saw, Cutlass, Pieces of Iron Rods, among others worth about N5m.

FCT Commandant, Dr. Olusola Odumosu, who disclosed this to newsmen in Abuja on Monday, said the success followed intense surveillance and patrol as well as tip off conducted by officers of the command.

Odumosu said: “I am glad to let you know that today. We have 13 suspects arrested in different part of FCT within the FCT between Saturday, 7th September, 2024 and the early hours of Monday, 9th September, 2024.”

Among items recovered from the suspects include; Armored cables, Motor Cycles, Shovels, Diggers, Wrentch, Hack saw, Cutlass, Pieces of Iron Rods, Indian Hemp, Water Pump, Bill boards, Hoes, Knives, among others.

Olusola warned criminally minded persons residing in the FCT to do themselves some good and either desist from acts of criminality or relocate from Abuja, adding that the command would leave no stone unturned to fish hem out and ensure they are brought to book.

The arrested suspects include,
Bitrus Obadiah, Male, 33 years; Girgi Msugh Peter, Male, 32 years; Auwal Umar, Male, 42 years; Jacob Jibut, male, 39 years, and Abdulfatai Aliyu, male, 22 years.

Others are, Timothy Maigida, male, 28 years; Williams Friday, male, 51 years; Lawal Harisu, male 29 years; Mohammed Yakubu male 24 years; Mohammed Zayyanu Auwal, male 27 years; Mohammed Kabiru, Male 26 years and Abubakar Mohammed, male, 24 years.
