Determined to ensure discipline in road traffic management in the nation’s capital, the Federal Capital Territory Directorate of Road Traffic Services (FCT-DRTS), otherwise known as Vehicles Inspection Officers (VIOs), said it has openedĀ a ‘black book’ for erring officers of the directorate.
Director of DRTS, Dr Abdullateef Bello, who disclosed this in Abuja on Wednesday, during the decoration of newly promoted officers, said the ‘black book’Ā is meant to instill sanity and discipline among the officers and in the affairs of theĀ directorate.
Bello advised officers of the directorate to ensure that their names are notĀ registered in the ‘black book’, adding that the book contains varieties of discipline and sanctions against erring officers.
He stated that the directorate expects the newly promoted officers to display a high level of responsibility in repositioning the directorate for service delivery, adding that to whom much is given, much is also expected.
The director also advised the officers to always maintain a high standards in their duties, in line with the civil service rules and regulations.
Speaking earlier, the deputy director, human resource management of the directorate, Samuel Francisca, disclosed that 405 officers sat for the promotion examination, out of which 386 officers came out successful and were promoted, which represents a, success rate of 95.30 percent.
