West Ham are said to be considering Nuno Espirito Santo and Rafael Benitez as potential replacements for David Moyes.
The Scotsman has come under serious pressure this season after a string of shoddy results that have left the Hammers battling to stay in the Premier League.
Defeat to Wolves on Saturday plunged them into the relegation zone as Julen Lopetegui’s men leapfrogged their fellow strugglers in the Premier League.
And Moyes is understood to be clinging to his job after the latest loss with West Ham considering hiring Nuno or Benitez as a replacement.
The club are deliberating over short-term and long-term options with both managers seen as candidates to take over until the end of the campaign to try and save the Hammers’ season.
The report adds that West Ham dream of being able to appoint someone like Mauricio Pochettino or Thomas Tuchel but also are aware that landing such a coach would require a Herculean effort.
However, appointing Nuno or Benitez is not expected to go down well with the fans, who want an attractive brand of football – something not commonly denoted of the two coaches.
But the Hammers are trying to give Moyes a fighting chance of turning the season around after performing small miracles at the club during his tenure, including a European finish in 2021.
