Wike: You have disrespected me, dug yourself pit, Fubara to chairmen of local governments

Following his altercation with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has issued a warning to local government chairmen in the state for showing disdain towards him.

Fubara remarked that they will fall into holes dug by the chairmen of the local government.

During the commissioning of the Comprehensive Primary Healthcare Center yesterday, he directly addressed Vincent Job, the Local Government Chairman of the Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area in Rivers State, and delivered the warning.

Following the dispute between the governor and Wike, certain chairmen of local government had removed themselves from activities overseen by Fubara in the state government.

But Fubara did not stop there. “I am shocked to see the local government chairman of Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local government here,” he remarked.

“I’m genuinely shocked because I am aware that all local government chairmen have been abstaining from any state-related events for a very long period.

“I hope they won’t fire you after you leave here because I know you won’t be loyal to me. Do they intend to fire you?

“Or you’ll give another press interview after you leave here to claim that it was your shadow and not you.

Let me clarify, though: whoever believes they are insulting me has already dug their own hole. It will ensnail you. That is the actuality.

“We have fairly open minds. We intend no harm to anyone. However, we count on you to know better and act morally.

“A safe voyage awaits those of you who have decided to follow the route you believe will best advance your profession.

“Siminalayi Fubara and his group will keep following the path that God has set for us, moving in the direction that will ultimately lead us to our goal and inspire pride in our people.”
