In advancing their preparation for the proposed Peace and Security Summit in order to addressing issues of Farmers/Herders clashes, the Leadership of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Nasarawa State met with the Leadership of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders, under Alh Bala Mohammed Dabo.
The meeting as contained in a statement signed by the president of NYCN Comrade, Ja’afar Loko, extensively discussed number of issues including possible partnership in the area of creating awareness and incessant misunderstanding between farmers and the herders in Nasarawa State,
The body of Cattle Breeders also aligned themselves totally with the Council planned Peace and Security Summit and as well as expressed readiness to be part of the engagements.
According to him “It was indeed a fruitful engagements at Miyetti Allah head office Lafia.
In furtherance of the council commitment to peaceful coexistence in the state, comrade Jaafar Loko and his team meet with the State Chairman of All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Amb Isaac Kigbu.
The meeting provided them the opportunity to discuss partnership for the forthcoming Peace and Security Summit to be hosted by the Council.
Comrade Ja’afar posited that “The discussion also dwelled on modalities for encouraging young people to key into farming and amicable resolution on the incessant Farmers/Herders conflicts in some parts of the state for food security.
“This is part of the Council resolve to engage with critical stakeholders on how best to promote peaceful coexistence and achieve security for developments to thrive”He added.
