Zamfara fire service estimates N273 million worth of structures damaged in 2023.

According to the Zamfara State Fire Service, between January and December of 2023, fire outbreaks in the State destroyed properties valued at N273,335,230.

The incidents happened throughout the year, according to Alhaji Abdullahi Jibo Dauran, the Executive Director of the State Fire Service, who was speaking to reporters in Gusau, the state capital.

In 2023, he claims they saved 842,933,340 properties, with 75 people hurt, 80 people killed, and 75 fire calls.

Dauran went on to say that among other things, power surges and gas stove mishaps were the causes of the fire outbreaks in Gusau City.

He counseled State residents to turn off all electrical devices before going to bed or leaving their homes and workplaces.

He stated that among other things, his office’s responsibilities include rescue operations and humanitarian services.
