Abia 2023: Ikonne reacts to concerns of being stooge

The Abia state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Professor Uche Eleazar Ikonne, has made it clear that he is not in the race to be anybody’s stooge.
Ikonne made this clear to his teeming supporters, during the inauguration of “Uche Ndi Abia” campaign council at Umuahia North local government headquarters Abia state.
He said that the story making the rounds that Governor Ikpeazu is projecting him to be his stooge is not true, saying “what is true is that the Governor believes in his ability to advance governance in the state.”
He thanked Ikpeazu, for having the foresight to back his candidacy, adding that nobody has become a governor without somebody backing him.
“I am a proud man, the most equipped Governorship candidate. I am not a person who will owe civil servant or retired pensioners while in governance,” Ikonne boasted.
He said that if elected, he will improve on where Governor Ikpeazu stopped, adding that he is a man who speaks his mind on any issue without being teleguided.
Earlier before the inauguration of Uche Ndi Abia campaign council Umuahia North local government area, Chief Uche Aguoru, the spokesperson of “Uche Ndi Abia” campaign organization, described professor Uche lkonne as the most prepared candidate.
“Wherever we go for consultation, it is almost a celebration. We have a man who will take Abia state to a higher ground,”Aguoru stated.
