The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Victor Oye, has described a contender to his seat, Chief Edozie Njoku as fake over an alleged Supreme Court judgement sacking the former( Oye)
Oye who spoke to our correspondent on the telephone in Awka, the Anambra State, on Sunday said there was no court judgement anywhere in the Nigerian court that removed him as the national chairman of APGA.
He said “There was no judgment, please. The man is fake.”
There were reports on the traditional and social media purporting that Oye had been sacked by the Supreme Court as National Chairman of APGA following a Supreme Court judgement.
But Oye had variously described the reports as unfounded.
He said, “It is fake news from desperate minds. Please ignore them. The Supreme Court put paid to the matter on October 14 last year. What they are doing now is trying to exhume a corpse that has long been buried. They are not serious”.
A judgement purportedly delivered by retired Justice Mary Odili in that respect been circulated by the Njoku group of APGA read in part, “It needs to be stated at this point that the dispute being who should be the Acting National Chairman of the 1st respondent, APGA and whether the Chairman, Chief Edozie Njoku was validly replaced within the confines of the internal affairs of the 1st respondent ( APGA) which is not justiceable.
“There is a plethora of judicial authorities on the point hence it is surprising that this matter is cropping up at this time. See Aguma v APC SC17/2021 & SC.51)2021 delivered on 5th March 2021 anchored by Jauro JSC. For this reason, this issue is resolved against the appellant. It follows that the entire foundation of this appeal collapses and there is no point belabouring the matter any further as this is an abuse of court process hence this appeal is dismissed.”
