The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (Retd), has received the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Mr Richard Pheelangwah, following his reinstatement by the Federal government after he was cleared of allegations linking him to a fake agency scam.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu approved Pheelangwah’s return to office after he was cleared of any involvement in the alleged scam.
In a statement on Tuesday by the Ministry’s Chief Information and Public Relations Officer, Queeneth Iheoma-Hart, Musa expressed confidence in their working relationship and emphasised the importance of sustained collaboration within the Ministry’s leadership to enhance administrative efficiency and service delivery.
The Ministry said the reinstatement reflected the federal government’s commitment to due process, fairness and zero tolerance for misconduct, particularly in ensuring that public officers cleared of allegations were not unjustly penalised.
In his response, Pheelangwah expressed gratitude to President Tinubu and the federal government for the opportunity to resume duty.
He pledged to discharge his responsibilities with renewed dedication, professionalism and commitment to national service, while working towards fulfilling the ministry’s mandate and advancing Nigeria’s defence and security objectives.
The Ministry said his return would strengthen leadership cooperation and ensure continuity in the pursuit of the country’s defence and security priorities.
