By Victoria Yakubu

The Managing Director/Chief Executive of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs Olubunmi Kuku, has received the Change Maker Award in Aviation Safety Transformation at the Daily Times Nigeria Centenary Awards.

The award recognises her leadership and efforts to improve aviation safety, upgrade airport infrastructure and enhance operational efficiency across the country.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday by FAAN, Kuku was among distinguished Nigerians honoured at the event, organised to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Daily Times newspaper.

Over the past three years, she has championed reforms aimed at strengthening safety and security measures, modernising airport facilities and aligning Nigerian airports with evolving international standards.

The Authority has also intensified efforts to improve passenger comfort and experience through infrastructure upgrades and initiatives to promote more efficient airport operations.

A major milestone under her leadership include FAAN’s attainment of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System and ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System certifications.

The certifications underscore the Authority’s commitment to quality service delivery, operational efficiency and improved environmental management practices.

The Daily Times Nigeria Centenary Awards was organised to celebrate the newspaper’s 100-year history and honour Nigerians whose contributions have advanced national development and excellence across various sectors.
