A second service of songs will be held on Thursday, December 10, at the late actor’s family compound in Okai, Eziama, Isiala Mbano.
The funeral service and interment will follow on Friday, December 11, at the same location.
The announcement, signed by his son, Ebuka Duru, and sister, Anthonia Chenyi, on behalf of the family, described the deceased as a cherished husband, father, brother, uncle and friend.
The family paid tribute to the actor, saying his remarkable life and legacy would continue to inspire those who knew him.
It also expressed appreciation to friends, colleagues and supporters for their prayers, calls, messages and encouragement during the difficult period.
The announcement followed an earlier warning by the family against the circulation of unauthorised funeral flyers and misleading information about the burial.
Duru, who gained prominence through his role in Amaka Igwe’s 1995 movie Rattlesnake, died on October 23 at the age of 57 after a brief illness.
