On the day two of the free eye screening and treatment outreach sponsored by the National Assembly as facilitated by the senator representing Nasarawa West Senatorial District no fewer than over Five Hundred persons were administered in various eye diseases at Kokona Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The free Medical treatment which was facilitated by Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada,the Chairman Senate Committee on public account took place in the premises of the Garaku Primary Health Care with specialists from the Federal medical Center Keffi, led by Dr Aliyu Isa,a opthalmologist.
People suffering from different eye challenges trooped in and over Five hundred were screened and given eye glasses as well as administered medications depending on the nature of their problems while Thirty persons as at the time of filing this report are to undergo surgery.
Among those that benefited 150 got eye glasses to enhance their sight, speaking, Dr Aliyu Isa told our correspondent that outside the free service, a patient would require not less than tens of thousands of naira to treated of any severe eye disease” but we are here today to administered free service as facilitated by Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada who is the senator representing Nasarawa West Senatorial District, sponsored by the National Assembly.
” This is quite commendable of him and as you can see the expected number has become overwhelmed but we will request for more in order to meet the people’s needs” Dr Aliyu said.
The beneficiaries who chorus a big thank you to senator Wadada for coming to their aid prayed that God grant him his heart desire” We have never been treated the way this politician has treated us.Wadada has shown us what true representation means and revealed to us that the past leaders only took advantage of our ignorance to enrich themselves.
One of the person that was operated upon while thanking the sponsors said he has longed for the operation after year of being tested in a hospital but for lack of the financial muscles four years after,he has been operated at no cost ,no pains and surprisingly it took him just few minutes and the doctor said he can go home” I was shocked that what would have taken me to kaduna is done to me in my area and nobody asked me to pay a kobo, Wadada is a God sent to us,i thank him and pray that he succeed in his political career.
New National Star report that the team of doctors ensured thorough screening, dispensation of drugs and issued the eye glasses according to specifications as dictated without compromising for want of gratifications.
