By Joel Ajayi

Nigeria’s senior women’s national team, the Super Falcons, have increased their strength in camp to 26 players following the arrival of four more players on Wednesday morning ahead of their 2028 Olympic qualifying fixture.

Speaking with Super Falcons media officer Brenda Seember Shima on Wednesday, she confirmed that the latest arrivals are Gift Monday of Washington Spirit, Joy Omewa of BK Häcken, Uchenna Kanu of Cruz Azul Femenil and Comfort Erhabor of Portsmouth Ladies.

Their arrival has further strengthened the squad as the Super Falcons intensify preparations for the crucial Olympic qualifying encounter.
The team will hold its third training session this evening at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne, Ogun State.

The training session is scheduled for 4:00 p.m., with the first 15 minutes open to members of the media.

With the arrival of the four overseas-based players, the Super Falcons are expected to step up preparations as they fine-tune their plans for the Olympic qualifying fixture.

Meanwhile, the Comoros women’s national team have arrived in Ikenne ahead of their 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games qualifying first-leg encounter against the Super Falcons.
The island nation’s delegation has settled into camp and commenced preparations for Friday’s crucial fixture at the Remo Stars Stadium.

With the first leg fast approaching, the Comoros technical crew will use the remaining training sessions to fine-tune their tactics and prepare the players for the challenge posed by Nigeria’s Super Falcons, who are ten-time African champions.
The visitors will be hoping to secure a positive result in Ikenne before the return leg, scheduled for next Tuesday.
The two-legged tie will determine which team advances in the Olympic qualifying race, with the Super Falcons aiming to secure a commanding advantage on home soil.
